Master's ProgramThe Institute of French Studies offers a variety of programs including innovative interdisciplinary and joint degree options. Those completing a B.A., who meet programs requirements, may complete an M.A. in French Studies with a commitment of one additional year, including a semester in Paris. In addition to M.A. in French Studies, Master’s students also have the opportunity of selecting from a number of joint degree programs that combine expertise in French Studies with intensive study in another social science or humanities discipline. The richness and variety of the Institute’s programs translate into a wealth of career possibilities for its graduates. B.A./M.A. DegreeThe College of Arts and Science (CAS) and the Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) offer qualified NYU students the opportunity to earn both a B.A. AND the M.A.in French Studies in a shortened period of study, most typically five years. All students accepted into the B.A./M.A. program are eligible for a tuition scholarship equal to half the cost of the fifth year of study. Students would thus earn both degrees in five years at the cost of 4 1/2 years of study. M.A. Degree ProgramThe M.A. in French Studies is valuable for careers in international business and banking, cultural organizations, the media, government, or for teaching in secondary schools. Our joint M.A. programs with the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, the NYU School of Law, and the Department of Journalism provide high quality professional training together with interdisciplinary work in French studies. |
